National Archive Of Australia

The National Archives of Australia preserves some of Western Australia’s rarest items in its Perth repository. With most of the items dating from Federation in 1901, it’s records consist of Whales teeth, postal and telegraph services, meteorology and more.

NAA had operated out of its WA branch from East Victoria Park, Perth for about 42 years. To meet its future needs, it called for expressions of interest to provide a new location and storage facility. The brief called for a storage solution to accommodate 15 shelf kilometres of archival records. All have significant and historic value therefore needed to be maintained in a secure, environmentally controlled facility with 24/7 independent access for National Archives staff
